WHY SATHAPHON LEGAL
What we bring to each client matter
There is more than one way to have a legal document prepared. We think the way it is done matters as much as the document itself.
← Back to homeSix reasons clients return
Unhurried from first to last
No meeting has a fixed end point. We take as long as you need and never move to the next step until you are entirely ready.
Documents a family can read
Every document we prepare is written in plain language. Family members should not need a solicitor in the room to understand what it says.
Complete discretion
Client matters are held entirely within the firm. Nothing you share with us is discussed with anyone outside the instructions you have given.
Fixed, transparent fees
Fees are agreed in writing before work begins and do not change unless the scope of the matter changes with your agreement.
Focused practice area
We work only in inheritance and estate matters. Clients benefit from a team whose attention has not been divided across many different areas of law.
Annual review available
For clients who want a long-term arrangement, we offer a structured annual review so that changes in their situation can be reflected in their plan without delay.
Each benefit, explained
Focused legal expertise
The principal solicitor at Sathaphon Legal has worked in inheritance and succession matters for over a decade, advising clients on personal care directives, lifetime transfers, and estate arrangements. This is not a general practice that also handles estate work — it is a practice built entirely around these questions. The depth of familiarity with succession law under the Thai Civil and Commercial Code, and with the practical considerations that arise in Bangkok families, allows the firm to work more precisely and more helpfully than a general practice can in this area.
- Succession law under the Thai Civil and Commercial Code
- Personal care directives under the National Health Act B.E. 2550
- Lifetime gift documentation and beneficiary coordination
- Long-term estate planning relationships
A considered process
Our process for each matter follows a clear pattern: an initial conversation to understand the client's situation, a drafting phase in which the relevant document is prepared with care, a review meeting at which the client reads and considers every section, and a final signing and witnessing step. Nothing moves forward without the client's clear and unhurried consent at each stage. This is not a fast process — it is a reliable one, and that reliability is the point.
A service shaped around each person
There is no standard template for what any client needs. One person may wish to set out detailed medical care preferences; another simply wants a document that names a trusted family member to handle household matters. A lifetime gift may involve one asset or several, with one beneficiary or with a more complex arrangement among family members. We begin with what the client actually wants and build the document from there, rather than asking the client to fit their wishes into a pre-existing form.
Clear fees, agreed in advance
Our three services have published fixed fees: 4,600 THB for a living will and directive, 7,800 THB for lifetime gift documentation, and 14,000 THB per year for the estate plan with annual review. These fees are confirmed in writing at the start of each engagement. They do not increase because a meeting took longer than expected, or because the document required an additional round of drafting. Clients find it easier to think clearly about their estate arrangements when they are not also thinking about an unpredictable legal bill.
Documents that work when needed
The practical test of any estate document is whether it does what it is meant to do at the moment a family needs it. A living will that is unclear, improperly witnessed, or difficult to locate is of limited value. We prepare documents that are correctly executed under Thai law, written in language that can be understood without professional assistance, and accompanied by a short note explaining how and when the document should be used. This practical attention to what happens after the document is signed is part of what we consider our responsibility.

Distinctive features of our service
Family guidance note with every document
Every completed document is accompanied by a short written note describing what it is, when it should be used, and what a family member should do when the time comes. This note is written for a non-lawyer reader.
Structured annual review programme
Unlike firms that treat each matter as a one-off transaction, we offer a long-term arrangement with an annual review meeting and a written summary at each cycle — designed to keep the client's estate plan current without requiring them to initiate a new engagement each time something changes.
Initial conversations by telephone
Many clients prefer to speak with us by telephone before deciding to come to the office. We are glad to accommodate this — a first call carries no obligation and is a sensible way to understand whether our services might be of use.
Sensitivity to family circumstances
Conversations about inheritance, care preferences, and the distribution of family assets are not always easy. We approach each engagement with the understanding that the subject matter is significant to the client and deserves to be handled with corresponding care.
