OUR METHODOLOGY

How we approach each matter

Every engagement at Sathaphon Legal follows the same broad pattern, regardless of which service is involved. We begin with a conversation — unhurried and with no expectation of any particular outcome — in which we try to understand what the client actually wants and whether our services can help. Only after that conversation do we discuss the specific documents that might be prepared and the steps involved.

The drafting phase is carried out by our document drafter, who prepares each instrument with care and reviews it before presenting it to the client. The client then reads the draft in full, ideally with enough time to consider it calmly before the next meeting. Changes are made as many times as needed. The final document is not signed until the client has confirmed that it reflects their wishes accurately.

Witnessing is arranged according to the requirements of the relevant Thai law, and the client is guided through each step of that process so that nothing feels unclear or rushed. Once the document is complete, we provide a short written note describing its purpose and the circumstances in which it should be used — something family members can consult without legal training.

SERVICE ONE

Living Will and Directive Preparation

A patient service for clients who would like to put in place a clear written directive describing their wishes for medical care, household arrangements, and the management of their personal matters in the event that they are no longer able to express those wishes themselves.

The work covers a calm conversation about the client's priorities, drafting of the directive in plain language, review of each section with the client, and witnessing in accordance with the relevant Thai requirements. The document is designed to be read calmly by the family at the relevant time.

  • Personal priorities conversation
  • Plain-language directive drafting
  • Section-by-section review with client
  • Formal witnessing arranged
  • Family guidance note included

SERVICE TWO

Lifetime Gift Documentation

For clients who would like to make a gift of property or other significant assets during their own lifetime and would like the arrangement properly documented for long-term family records.

The work covers a written record of the client's intentions, drafting of the relevant gift document, coordination with any beneficiary or trustee involved, and a short written note describing the practical effect of the arrangement for the family's reference. The pace is set by the client throughout.

  • Written record of client intentions
  • Gift instrument drafting
  • Beneficiary or trustee coordination
  • Practical effect note for family reference

Lifetime Estate Plan with Annual Review

The work covers preparation of the initial plan, an annual conversation with the client about any changes in their situation, drafting of any updates the client wishes to make, and a calm written summary at the close of each review. The arrangement is designed to support a relationship over many years, with no expectation that any particular step is taken in any single year.
